The Mustangs traveled to Hesperia on Wednesday to compete against 7 other schools at the Baker Woods Early Season Invitational. The hilly terrain was a great challenge and the athletes set several PRs. On the boys side Bryce White finished in 14th, followed by Jareth Shappee and Callen Eldred in 27th and 28th respectively. Kenneth Graham and Lewis Davidson finished in 37th and 38th while Colten Eldred finished in 49th. Michael Ockert rounded out the pack in 52nd. When comparing last year's performances at the same course, Kenneth Graham and Lewis Davidson ran over 6 minutes faster this season, starting the season out strong. On the girls side, Kirstyn Cummings finished in 17th and ran a new personal best, beating all of her times from the previous season. She was followed closely by Saralynn Shelley in 20th. Kirstyn not only set a new PR but improved on the same course by over 5 minutes. Great performances by all. The Mustangs compete again next Friday, August 29th, at the Oiler Invite.
