Montabella Girls Golf travelled to The Quest in Houghton Lake on Wednesday. The course was in beautiful shape and offered a great experience for our young team, with fast greens, slopes, and stunning hardwoods. Despite the challenge, the Mustangs kept a positive attitude throughout the 18 holes. Leading the way were co-captains Alivia Thompson (124) with a par and a bogie, and Kenzie Karcher (137). Brooklyn Rausch made her season debut, coming off an ankle injury, and powered through the finish with a 145. Rounding out the match were Bailey Kelsey (150), Ella Scherzer (156), and Lydia Eldred (160). All four returning golfers improved their scores at The Quest over last year. Alivia Thompson improved by 27 strokes over last year, and Kenzie shaved 12 strokes off. Overall, the team finished 10th out of 14 teams and improved their course score by 47 strokes! Montabella Girls will be at Mt. Pleasant Country Club next Thursday for 18 holes.
